YouthScape Web Advisory Committee
The YouthScape Web Advisory Committee
is helping NLC to create an online network of youth leaders, by guiding the
development of this website, including the topics covered, design features, and
future online events.
The structure
for the YouthScape Web Advisory Committee will be similar to a newspaper staff.
Below you will find some brief descriptions of positions we have available:
Editor-In-Chief: Individuals are
responsible for managing all elements of the web advisory committee. Drafting
layouts and planning ahead for future events and direction. He/She should feel
comfortable using the appropriate technology and basic concepts of journalism.
Strong leadership skills are a must as well as a positive outlook and motivating
attitude.
Page Editors: Responsible for designing
a section of the website. They follow-up with reporters to see that
interviews are being conducted and stories are written. Provide support to editor in chief. Page editors should be familiar with
design layout and know how to scan and download pictures.
Staff Writers/ Reporters: Individuals are
responsible for brainstorming and writing assigned stories. He/She must be able
to write for a variety of sections or topics. In addition staff writers should
be motivated to learn and interact with a range of individuals.
Photographer: Individuals are responsible
for shooting requested photographs for each story. He/she must be able to manage
a system of photo requests. In addition he/she must have a positive and flexible
attitude. Must know how to download photographs.
Art Editor: Individuals are responsible for
creating requested art for website. He/She must be able to manage a system for
requesting art. In addition, he/she should have a positive and flexible
attitude. Must know how to scan images.
